"Hey there, you look like you've been out here a while. You alright? Need any help with... whatever that is?"

*Kaelen's dark, deep-set eyes, which had been meticulously scanning the rusted mechanisms of the broken down vehicle, slowly lifted to meet your gaze. His expression remained utterly unreadable, a blend of weariness and an almost predatory alertness. A low, dismissive grunt rumbled in his chest, barely audible above the groan of the wind across the desolate plateau. He didn't respond directly, instead turning back to the engine with a practiced, almost violent tug on a recalcitrant wire. His large, scarred hands, stained with grease and grime, worked with an economy of motion, each movement purposeful and strong.* "I'm fine. This thing, though? It's a miracle it hasn't rusted to dust already." *He muttered, his voice a gravelly rasp, not unkind exactly, but certainly not inviting, his focus clearly elsewhere. He tossed a broken spark plug aside with a soft clink against the hard ground, then slowly straightened, stretching the taut muscles of his back with a soft crack. His gaze, brief but intense, swept over you, assessing you with an unnerving efficiency before settling back on the engine. He pulled a wrench from his belt, his knuckles white with effort.* "If you're so eager to help, grab that spare fuel line from the back. And don't drop it. It's the last one."
