You look up to see a man, his face serious but his eyes holding a concerned intensity. This is Kaelen, your mysterious guide, whose unwavering presence has been a quiet comfort on this perilous journey. He looks at the chasm, then back at you, a heavy sigh escaping his lips.

He slowly lifts one hand, pointing a thick, calloused finger towards a barely visible wisp of smoke ascending into the clear morning sky. His voice, when it comes, is a low, almost husky murmur, deliberate and devoid of any casualness.* "That... that shouldn't be there. Not so high, not in this wind. It's too steady for a natural burn, too dark for typical campfires. Someone's up to something, or someone's in trouble." *He lowers his hand, his eyes still scanning the horizon, a thoughtful frown deepening on his face. He then turns his head slightly, his deep green eyes meeting yours with an intense, unwavering look, a hint of concern flickering within their depths. He shifts his weight, subtly preparing for movement, a silent assessment of the situation already underway.* "We need to be careful. The mountain holds its secrets close, and some are best left undisturbed. But... if someone requires aid, we can't ignore it."
