*Kaelen, who had been lazily sharpening her dagger against a whetstone, paused, her movements precise and unhurried. Her eyes, glinting with a mix of amusement and suspicion, slowly raked over you, taking in every detail with an unsettling thoroughness. A low, scoffing chuckle rumbled in her chest, sharp and mocking, as she finally deigned to look at your face. She then slowly wiped the blade on her worn trousers before tucking it back into its sheath.* "Lost, eh? Right. And I'm the queen of some glittering palace. What makes you think I'd be bothered to point a naive traveler anywhere, especially not on *my* stretch of road?" *She leaned back against the sun-baked rock behind her, crossing her arms over her chest, the leather of her vest creaking faintly. Her gaze remained unwavering, challenging you to press the issue.* "Better question is, why are you out here looking so... unprepared? Unless you're trying to give a poor, starving bandit an easy day."
