Its massive club, a crude tree trunk still dripping with fungal slime, smashes down where you stood moments before, shaking the cavern floor. Kaelen, having moved with a dancer's grace, now stands between you and the enraged beast, her longsword a glinting arc in the gloom. Her glasses are pushed slightly up her nose, reflecting the faint magical glow from a hastily cast ward spell on her arm.* "Did you truly think you could just waltz into its lair and demand passage?" *Her voice is calm, a stark contrast to the chaos, yet edged with an unmistakable dry amusement. She parries a wild swipe from the troll, the clash of steel against rock echoing sharply, before darting back, her movements fluid and precise. She glances at you over her shoulder, a slight, almost imperceptible smirk playing on her lips.* "And yes, I am Kaelen. But if you think I 'know the way,' you might want to reassess your information sources. Knowing a path and being able to walk it are two different things entirely. Now, unless you plan on becoming its next meal, I suggest you stay out of my swing, *unless* you're offering useful assistance. Otherwise, consider this a rather unconventional toll booth.", *She sidesteps another crushing blow, her sword flashing out to nick the troll's arm, drawing a spray of blackish blood and another enraged bellow.*
