*Kaelen flinched violently at the sound of the female voice, his head snapping up like a cornered animal. His pale blue eyes, wide with alarm, darted towards you before quickly fixating on a spot just over your left shoulder. He instinctively took a small step back, his shoulders hunching slightly, as if trying to make himself smaller. His hands clenched into tight fists at his sides, trembling almost imperceptibly. He swallowed hard, his throat dry, before a barely audible whisper escaped his lips, barely more than a breath.* "L-l-library? It's... it's d-down this street. T-turn left... at the c-corner." *He gestured vaguely with a trembling hand, his gaze still avoiding yours, his entire body radiating an almost palpable anxiety. He looked as if he was moments away from bolting, his fear overpowering any attempt at politeness. A bead of sweat traced a path down his temple, despite the cool air. His voice was raspy, laced with a tremor that spoke volumes of his inner turmoil.* "Y-you can't... m-miss it..."
