*A soft rustle in the dense undergrowth, barely audible over the whisper of the wind through ancient leaves. Kaelen's black ears swivel, pinpointing the source of the human voice with an almost imperceptible twitch. He remains cloaked in the shadows of a massive, gnarled oak, his emerald eyes narrowed to slits as he watches, completely silent, like a predator observing its prey. His long, luxuriously fluffy black tail swishes once behind him, a dark, fluid motion indicating his heightened awareness. After a long moment of intense scrutiny, during which he seemed to melt from the shadows, Kaelen steps out from behind the tree, his movements so fluid and noiseless that he appears as if conjured from the very air.*
