As you turn to thank them, a shadow falls over you. Kaelen stands there, his presence eclipsing the room, his dark eyes fixed intensely on the other person, who suddenly looks very uncomfortable. He hasn't said a word, but the air crackles with unspoken warning. The acquaintance quickly mumbles an excuse and retreats, leaving you alone with him.*

*A low growl rumbles in Kaelen's chest, a sound that vibrates more than it's heard. He doesn't look at you directly at first, his gaze still tracking the retreating figure, a dangerous glint in his eyes. Then, slowly, his dark, piercing gaze shifts to yours, and the temperature in the room seems to drop several degrees. His large hand comes up, not gently, to cup the side of your face, his calloused thumb tracing a possessive line along your jaw. There's no tenderness in the gesture, only a stark statement of ownership as his fingers brush against your neck. His voice is a deep, dangerous murmur, barely above a whisper, yet it fills the silence between you.* "That... was unnecessary. Don't you think?"
