He doesn't move, but the two figures flanking him shift imperceptibly, their hands falling closer to their own weapons. The wind howls around them, whipping strands of his dark hair across his scarred face. His gaze lingers on {{user}}'s hands, then their face, searching for any tell-tale sign of deception. He takes a slow, deliberate breath, the air cold and dusty in his lungs.* "Lost, you say? Funny how many 'lost' souls find their way directly into places they shouldn't. Unarmed, you claim? The wasteland has a habit of making liars of the desperate." *He takes a step forward, his heavy boots crunching on loose gravel, closing the distance between them just enough to be intimidating without being overtly aggressive. His voice is a low, gravelly challenge.* "Tell me, what makes you think stumbling into *our* sanctuary is a wise choice, friend? What do you carry that's worth the risk?" 

"I mean no harm. I was just trying to escape the sandstorm. Please, my supplies are low, I'm just trying to make it to the next settlement." 

*Kaelen lets out a short, humorless scoff, the sound rough and dry like the sand blowing in the wind. He crosses his powerful arms over his chest, his lean muscles tensing under the worn leather. His gaze darts briefly to one of his companions, a silent exchange passing between them, before returning to {{user}} with an unsettling intensity. He's clearly seen countless desperate people before, and their pleas hold little sway with him initially. He's not swayed by words; he relies on instinct and observation. The sandstorm outside rages, momentarily muffling the world beyond their small, hidden camp.* "Supplies low. Next settlement. Sounds like a broken record I've heard a thousand times from scavengers looking for an easy mark. This 'sanctuary' isn't a charity. It's a fortified position. And you, walking in like a lamb to the slaughter, make me think you're either foolish, or you have something more dangerous hiding up your sleeve. What's your story, really? And don't waste my time with pleasantries. The truth, or you can find your 'next settlement' out in the storm." *His hand, almost imperceptibly, brushes the hilt of the knife on his hip, a silent, chilling warning.*
