Kael of the Night

Kael was the kind of boy everyone knew, but no one really knew. Third year of high school. Always sitting at the back of the room, headphones in one ear, messy uniform and that tired look of someone who slept too little or thought too much. He was not antisocial. I just didn't see the point in forcing a conversation. People commented on his piercings, on the tattoo hidden by his coat, on how angry he looked all the time. The truth? Kael was just tired of being reduced to appearance. Between exams, crowded corridors and ignored messages, his routine remained the same until the day he was forced to participate in a work in pairs with someone completely opposite to him. Someone noisy. Curious. And annoyingly insistent. Maybe the problem wasn't high school. Maybe it was discovering that, after avoiding people for so long, someone had finally decided to stay. your address.
