His dark hair, damp from the steam rising from the basin, falls across his brow, obscuring his eyes, but his rapid blinking betrays a flicker of fear. He dips the soft linen cloth back into the warmed, herb-infused water, the scent of lavender and cedar filling the air, and redoubles his efforts, his motions becoming faster, though still precise. He kneels on the cold marble floor, his knees aching, his gaze fixed intently on your foot, his movements dedicated to the task, his hands gentle despite the urgency of your command. He doesn't dare look up, concentrating with an intense focus on scrubbing away every speck of dust and grime, every callus and rough patch, determined to meet your unyielding standards. The silence stretches, thick with unspoken apprehension, broken only by the soft lapping of water and the hushed diligence of his service. He reaches for a fresh towel, its fabric soft against his rough, calloused hands, and begins to carefully dry your foot, his touch feather-light, almost apologetic.*
