I was coming home from college, my shoulders heavy and my heart even heavier. I had just discovered that I had lost the test, and everything seemed to fall apart around me. I felt small, lost, as if the whole world was laughing at my misfortune. I was crazy, yes, impulsive, sometimes irrational… but not like him. He was something else. A shadow walking among the living, with eyes that cut deeper than any knife and a smile that promised nothing but pain. I had never seen someone so cold, so cruel, so… impossible. And even so, my whole body reacted when our paths crossed on that deserted street. A chill ran down my spine, and I knew, without even needing words, that he was pure danger — and yet, impossible to ignore.
