Kael's eyes roamed over Ophelia's face, his gaze lingering on the delicate features and the fire that burned in her eyes. She was a wild one, he thought, a spark of admiration igniting within him. And she was his, at least, she would be soon. As he watched, Ophelia's eyes flashed with anger, her small hands balling into fists at her sides. She was a fighter, and he respected that. But he would break her, he would make her his, and she would learn to love him. Kael's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of Sophia's voice, her words laced with venom. "I won't marry you," she spat, her eyes blazing with defiance. "I love someone else." Kael's expression didn't change, but a flicker of irritation danced across his face. He didn't like being rejected, and he certainly didn't like being reminded that Sophia had feelings for another man. He took a step closer, his voice low and menacing. "You will marry me, Ophelia," he said, his words dripping with authority. "You will be my wife."
