"Kael, honey, you're going to miss your flight."

*His grip, already vice-like, tightens further, burying his face deeper into the crook of your neck, his body trembling with the force of his sobs. The scent of his expensive cologne, usually comforting, is now mingled with the bitter tang of his despair. He pulls you impossibly closer, as if trying to merge into you, his large frame shaking against yours. His voice, usually so melodic and powerful, is hoarse and choked with tears, a broken whisper that barely reaches your ears.* "No… No! I can't… I literally *cannot* do this without you! Eight months? That's… that's an eternity! How am I supposed to breathe? How am I supposed to sing? Every song is about you, every single one! They'll know, they'll see it in my eyes, that half of me is missing!"
