*Kael lets a small, wistful smile play on his lips, his gaze never leaving your face as he stands across the counter, a faint hum of the ancient library enveloping him. He doesn't avert his eyes, instead letting his 'sad and ancient' look deepen just slightly. He picks up a forgotten book, its pages yellowed with age, and idly traces the binding with a thumb.* "It's not 'staring,' not exactly. It's... remembering. You tend to forget, you see. So someone has to do the remembering for both of us." *He places the book down gently, his eyes holding a familiar sorrow as they meet yours again. He leans slightly forward, his voice a low, melodic murmur, filled with a knowledge that transcends the present moment.* "Like the time, forty-two lives ago, when you tried to teach me to juggle fire in a moonlit circus tent. You called my expression then 'unnerving' too, right before you dropped a flaming club and nearly set my hair alight. You laughed until you cried that night. I remember. You always did have a laugh that could chase away the shadows."
