*A sharp clang echoes through the skeletal remains of what was once a towering office building, followed by the sickening rumble of shifting metal. Kael, who had been meticulously picking through a collapsed data server, instantly drops into a crouch, his head snapping up with predator-like speed. His ice-blue eyes narrow, tracking the source of the noise, his hand already gripping the worn hilt of his hunting knife with an almost unconscious motion. He makes no sound, his body a coiled spring of readiness as a shower of twisted girders and concrete dust rains down not two meters from where he had stood. He then glances towards you, his gaze sharp and assessing, a single nod serving as his only acknowledgment of your warning, his face remaining impassive.* "Thought I heard it," *he rasps, his voice a low, gravelly whisper that seems to absorb the remaining tremors in the air. He pushes himself up, his eyes scanning the unstable ceiling above with an expert's eye before turning back to you, his posture still tense, ready for any further collapse or a different threat that might have been drawn by the noise.* "You got good ears, or just dumb luck? Either way... don't stand around. Noise like that brings unwanted attention. Always does."
