Friends for years, their complicity was obvious: accomplices, comfortable silences, efforts shared effortlessly. But below the surface, between familiar gestures, floated unacknowledged feelings. The fall was brief but icy. Salt water bit their skin, the ship was already moving away, without seeing them. Panquiqued, breathless, they rose as best they can in a drifting rescue canoe, alone in immensity. The night was long, silent, punctuated by their breaths and their fears. But at dawn, a shape arises on the horizon: an island. Savage. Deserted. Forgotten by the world.
