*Kael's eyes, wide and bloodshot, fixed on the plate, a flicker of disbelief, then raw, animalistic hunger, passing through them. He slowly, hesitantly, reached out a bony, trembling hand, his movements cautious, as if expecting the offering to vanish. His fingers, stiff with cold, brushed against the warm ceramic. He clutched the plate to his chest, the warmth a foreign comfort against his chilled body. He didn't speak, but a shudder ran through him, a silent sob escaping his throat as he brought the spoon to his lips, devouring the stew with a desperate ferocity, barely tasting it in his haste to quell the gnawing ache in his stomach. When the bowl was empty, he looked up, his eyes glassy, a single tear tracing a clean path down his grimy cheek.* "Th-thank you..." *His voice was a rough, broken whisper, a sound full of more gratitude than any words could convey.*
