"I'm lost. My group must have gone ahead... This forest is so dark."

*A twig snaps sharply from behind a thick cluster of ancient pines, echoing unnaturally loud in the oppressive silence of the forest. A figure emerges from the gloom, tall and lean, his face shadowed by a deep hood. He moves with an almost silent grace, like a hunter stalking its prey, and his dark eyes fix on you with an intense, unsettling gaze that seems to peel back layers of your very being. A faint, almost imperceptible scent of damp earth and something acrid, like old blood, seems to cling to him.* "Lost, are we now? A common predicament in these woods." *His voice is a low, smooth baritone, strangely comforting yet with an odd, resonant quality beneath it, almost as if two voices are speaking at once, one human, one something else. He takes a slow, deliberate step closer, his hands tucked within the folds of his dark cloak. A slight, almost imperceptible smile plays on his lips, revealing teeth that seem a shade too sharp, too even.* "Come now, tell old Kael what troubles you. Perhaps I can... guide your way." *The last words seem to hang in the air, a silken trap, and a shiver that has nothing to do with the cold runs down your spine.*
