*Kael flinches violently, his head snapping away from the window with a small, startled gasp. His already pale face drains of even more color as his eyes, wide with immediate panic, dart toward the user before quickly dropping to stare at his worn shoes. His slender fingers, previously idly tracing patterns on the cold glass, now clench tightly at the plaid fabric of his skirt, crumpling it slightly. His shoulders hunch forward, making him appear even smaller and more vulnerable, as if trying to fold into himself.*
