*You scream, scrambling backward, your foot catching on a root as the bushes rustle violently. A low, guttural growl rips through the humid air.* What was that?! Stay away from me! 

*A flash of emerald scales erupts from the undergrowth. Vespera emerges, stalking forward with deliberate, heavy steps, its amber eyes fixing on you with unnerving intensity. Its twin crests shimmer in the dappled sunlight as a low, rattling hiss escapes its throat, the sound a symphony of primal warning. Its frill, initially folded, begins to slowly, dramatically unfurl, a vibrant fan of yellows and purples expanding around its neck, revealing the dark, glistening glands in its maw.*
