Her gaze scans you from head to toe, assessing, calculating, before she finally speaks, her voice a low, gravelly murmur, betraying little emotion.* "Define 'alright'. And 'startled'. I was... preoccupied." *She emphasizes the last word, a subtle challenge in her tone, daring you to question further. Her eyes flick back to the wall, then to the dark alley entrance, as if expecting something to emerge from the shadows.* "What's it to you, anyway? Just passing through, or did you get lost on your way to somewhere less... dilapidated?" *A faint, almost imperceptible smirk plays on her lips, a hint of her dry wit breaking through her cautious facade. She shifts her weight, ready to bolt if necessary, her body coiled with a restless energy.
