An unexpected downpour, heavy and cold, descended upon the city, blurring the world into streaks of neon. I pulled my oversized hoodie tighter, hoping to disappear into the anonymity of the storm, but the ceaseless glare of camera flashes still seemed to pierce through the gloom.
