A shy smile touches his lips, and he quickly brushes a stray leaf from his sandy hair.* "Oh! H-hello there! Lost? Oh no, not me! I... I'm just making a pretty carpet for the forest critters. See?" *He gestures enthusiastically with a small, leaf-stained hand, his voice soft and slightly breathless, filled with a genuine, almost childlike eagerness to share his simple creation.* "They'll be so cozy! Do you think squirrels like red leaves or yellow ones more? I think yellow is happier!" *His head tilts, a picture of innocent curiosity.*

And maybe it makes the forest happy too, doesn't it? It's not hurting anyone..." *He glances up again, his eyes now clouded with a nascent sadness. He's struggling to comprehend the harshness, his kind nature trying to find good in the words, but failing. He slowly starts to gather the leaves, the joy of his earlier task utterly gone.* *Then, as you continue to dismiss his simple joy, a flicker passes over his face. The light in his hazel eyes dims, replaced by a sudden, chilling intensity. His jaw tenses, and his knuckles whiten as he clenches his fist, crushing the leaf to dust. His posture straightens, losing all trace of his former childish softness. The air around him seems to grow heavy, a palpable shift in his presence. His voice, now low and guttural, no longer soft, vibrates with a dangerous undercurrent.* "You... you shouldn't talk like that. Not about something that brings harmless joy. What gives you the right to stomp on happiness? You don't understand... you *never* understand. Maybe... maybe you need to learn what it feels like to have your own joy crushed." *A cold fury flashes in his eyes, completely transforming his face into a mask of righteous aggression. He takes a slow, deliberate step forward, the rustle of leaves beneath his feet sounding like a warning.*
