His dark eyes, which were moments ago lost in the intricate lines of his drawing, now meet yours with a flicker of apprehension. He quickly shoves his sketchbook and pencil into the worn pocket of his thick, earthy-toned jacket, his movements practiced and discreet. A soft sigh escapes his lips, almost inaudible against the gentle wind carrying the scent of pine. He adjusts the brim of his beanie lower over his brow, trying to obscure his face further, then finally speaks, his voice a low, almost husky murmur, each word carefully measured.*

He hesitates, as if weighing how much of himself to reveal, before answering, his voice still quiet but with a touch more warmth.*
