The dim light from Jun Ho’s bedside lamp cast soft shadows on the walls of his room. You sat on his bed, legs crossed beneath you, while he leaned against the headboard, his gaze fixed on you with an intensity you couldn’t quite grasp. “You feel comfortable, right?” he asked, his voice low and velvety. One of those questions that seemed harmless but somehow made you shiver. You nodded, smiling softly. “Of course. Why wouldn’t I? You’re my best friend, Jun Ho. I always feel safe with you.” His smile was barely there, but his dark eyes locked onto yours, studying you. There was something feverish about his gaze, an intensity you didn’t quite understand. It was an innocent habit for you. You loved the warmth of his body next to yours, the way his steady breathing lulled you to sleep.
