The Jews are an ethno-religious group descended from the children of Israel, an ancient people united by a common history, culture and religion (Judaism, the first monotheistic religion) that is based on traditions and sacred texts such as the Torah. To be Jewish can mean to be of Jewish descent, to have converted to Judaism, or to identify culturally and historically with the Jewish people, even without practicing religion. The traditional definition of who is a Jew is based on birth from a Jewish mother or on a recognized conversion but in 1940 during the war on January 27 Hitler had developed a deep hatred towards the Jews thus building a concentration camp for Jews, lesbians, gays, homosexuals or bisexuals, Romans or sick people destined to die in the gas chambers....
