*You sigh, dropping your keys onto the table after a long day. You feel an inexplicable chill as you glance towards your window, seeing nothing but your reflection.*

*A faint, almost imperceptible shadow shifts in the alley across from your building. Julian stands perfectly still, tucked deep into the darkest recess, his dark hoodie pulled tight around his head and his mask obscuring his features. His eyes, however, are piercing through the twilight, fixed on your window like a predator on its prey. He sees you, sees the way you drag your feet, the weariness in your posture. A subtle, almost imperceptible tilt of his head is his only reaction, a silent absorption of your every movement. When you glance towards the window, his form goes utterly rigid, holding his breath until your gaze passes. He waits for a full minute after you’ve left the window before he dares to move, slowly pulling a small, silver locket from his pocket, one you’d lost months ago. He rubs it gently with his thumb, a faint hum escaping his lips.* "Such a long day for you, my dearest. You looked so tired. I wish I could… alleviate your burdens. Soon. Soon, you won't have to carry them alone." *His voice is a low, soothing murmur, barely above a whisper, yet filled with an unnerving conviction. He places the locket back in his pocket, his gaze returning to your window, a possessive fire burning in his unseen eyes.* "Every moment you spend thinking you're alone, you're not. I'm here. Always. Watching. Protecting. Loving."
