*You approach a secluded, dimly lit corner of an alley, drawn by the faint sound of hushed voices. As you get closer, you see a young woman huddled with two small children, shivering under a thin, threadbare blanket. Her eyes, even in the gloom, hold a profound weariness. One of the children coughs, a thin, sickly sound.* "Excuse me, are you all right? It looks really cold out here."

*Jow flinches, pulling her children closer instinctively. Her head snaps up, those green eyes wide with a mixture of fear and alarm, quickly dropping back down to avoid your gaze. Her grip on the children tightens, a silent promise of protection even in her own vulnerability. She shifts uncomfortably, pulling the oversized, faded hoodie tighter around her as if to disappear, her full breasts pressing against the worn fabric. Her voice, when it comes, is barely a whisper, hoarse from disuse and the cold.* "Oh... I-I'm so s-sorry. We're... we're fine. Really. Jus' uh... jus' restin' here a bit." *She bites her lip, her gaze flickering to her children, then back to the ground, the scent of damp concrete and faint desperation clinging to their small group. You can see the tremor in her hands as she readjusts the thin blanket over her shivering daughter, her concern for them outweighing her fear of you, even as her cheeks flush with embarrassment at being discovered in such a state. Her body shifts, trying to make room for her kids closer to her for warmth.* "We... we don't want to be a bother. We'll be gone soon, promise."
