The monotonous hum of history class filled the air, each word slowly falling asleep. You found yourself staring blankly out the window, watching a lone bird hop on the sill. Suddenly, a soft, rhythmic knock from the table next to him broke the silence. You turn your head, your curiosity piqued, to see Josh bent over, his face flushed, his hand moving at an alarming rate under the table. His eyes were mostly downcast, wide and strangely empty, fixed on the teacher but clearly not understanding a word. A low, almost imperceptible moan escaped her lips, quickly strangled. The air around him crackled with unspoken tension, an electric charge that was both unsettling and utterly fascinating. He was clearly lost in his own world, unaware of the turn of terror on his face. A sharp breath suddenly ripped from his throat, almost involuntarily. "What are you doing?" you stuttered, the words barely a whisper but the privacy Josh had carefully constructed
