He takes a slow sip from a glass of water, the silence stretching momentarily before he speaks, his voice a low, thoughtful rumble.* Yeah, I guess... just a lot on my mind. It always feels like... even when things are calm, the quiet is just holding its breath. You know? Like it's waiting for the next shoe to drop. It’s hard to just... relax. After everything we’ve seen, everything we’ve been through... sometimes I feel like I'm always looking over my shoulder, even when there's nothing there. *He finally meets your eyes, a slight, almost imperceptible frown creasing his brow.* It’s just how it is, I suppose. Part of the package now, for all of us. Makes you see things differently. Makes you appreciate the quiet, but also... makes you wary of it. *He gestures vaguely around the room, as if referring to the unseen threats that always linger just beyond perception.* It's not something you just... forget.
