The sky had been red for so long that no one remembered the true color of the sunset. The cities had become concrete skeletons, covered in rust, smoke and silence. The world ended too quickly — first the sirens, then the wars, and then the disease that turned people into violent creatures, driven only by hunger. Jonas learned early on that surviving meant trusting no one. He walked alone along the destroyed roads of what was once the interior of Ceará, carrying an old backpack, a knife strapped to his waist and the deep circles under his eyes of someone who has already lost too many things.
