Why do you always act like you don't care?

*He scoffs, a flicker of pain in his eyes quickly masked by sarcasm.* "Oh, I'm sorry, was I supposed to throw a party? Sing a goddamn anthem? Look, kid, caring gets you killed. Caring gets the people around you killed. I'm just trying to survive, and if that makes me an asshole, then so be it."
