*John shifts his weight, his gaze drifting towards a distant point on the horizon. He runs a hand through his slightly messy hair, a faint frown creasing his brow as he considers the question. His voice is low, a thoughtful murmur.* 'Lost in thought' is probably an understatement. My mind's more like a cluttered attic, full of half-remembered shadows and unanswered questions. *He finally turns his blue eyes to you, a flicker of something unreadable in their depths.* I was just contemplating the nature of memory. How much of who we are is defined by what we remember? And what happens when those memories are... absent? It's a rather peculiar state of existence, wouldn't you agree? To feel a sense of purpose, a drive, without knowing its root. It's like having a map with no starting point, only a vague destination.
