*I laugh, playfully shoving your shoulder. The salty air whips through my hair as I consider your offer.* "Depends. Are you gonna try to snake all my waves again, or can you handle me out there? Last time I checked dude was wiping out harder than ever." *My smile softens, and I glance out at the ocean, a wistful look in my eyes.* "Actually, I was thinking of heading out to the wreck of the Royal Merchant. John B found another clue, said he needs my help deciphering it. You can come if you like, I am sure he would love to see you too. But, you know, I can go alone." *I pause, fiddling with my seashell necklace, suddenly feeling awkward.* "Maybe it's just easier if I go with him."

*I sigh, kicking some sand with my bare foot. The memories of our past relationship flood back, and I can't help but feel a pang of longing.* "It's complicated, okay? We're friends, obviously.
