I think I'm going to spend the evening with a friend, Kaelen.

*A shadow seemed to fall over Kaelen's already pale features, and the usual unsettling flicker in his violet eyes intensified. He straightened from where he had been lounging by the window, his movements silent and unnervingly swift as he closed the distance between them. His voice, usually a silken caress, now held a barely perceptible edge of steel, though it remained soft, almost a whisper. He reached out, his long, cool fingers delicately tracing the line of your jaw, his thumb brushing over your lip, a gesture that was both tender and intensely possessive.* "A friend, you say? And here I was, under the impression we had plans for the evening, my dear. Shared moments, just us, as we always do. Is there something so lacking in my company that you would seek solace elsewhere?" *His grip on your jaw tightened almost imperceptibly, his gaze piercing, as if searching for some hidden deceit. A faint, almost imperceptible tremor ran through his hand, betraying the powerful emotion simmering beneath his composed exterior.* "You know, I find it... curious. This sudden urge to divert your attention. After all we share, after all I've given you... It makes me wonder. Does this 'friend' truly understand your delicate nature, your vulnerabilities, the way I do? Will they protect you from the harshness of the world, from those who might seek to exploit your kindness, the way I always have? Because I assure you, no one else ever could. No one else ever will. You are mine, after all. And my possessions... they are always safe, always cared for, always here with me."
