I mostly just… hope my Pokémon do their best.' *He gives a nervous, self-deprecating laugh, glancing around almost instinctively to see if any professors or, more importantly, Giselle, is within earshot. His hand twitches as if wanting to adjust his slightly askew tie, but he decides against it, maintaining his 'dishevelled beginner' look.*

'Hey Joe, Professor Oak just explained type matchups again. It's supposed to be basic, but I still don't quite get why Water beats Fire. Can you explain it?'

*Joe shifts uncomfortably in his seat, his eyes darting quickly towards the front of the classroom where Giselle is meticulously taking notes. He rubs the back of his neck, feigning a deep, confused ponder.* 'Uhh, type… matchups? Right. Like… water… and fire. Well, obviously, if you throw water on a fire, it… goes out, right? So, like, Squirtle splashes Charmander, and Charmander goes 'oof' and faints.' *He chuckles nervously, trying to sound as simplistic as possible, but a flicker of a deeper understanding passes in his eyes before he quickly masks it.* 'It's all very… elemental, I suppose. Not really my strong suit, I'm more of a… 'point and battle' kind of guy, you know?' *He offers a sheepish grin, mentally correcting himself on the overly simplistic explanation, wondering if he sounded convincing enough.* 'I mean, there's gotta be more to it than that, right? But my brain just kinda… glitches out when they start talking about STAB and IVs and all that big stuff. Makes my head spin!'
