*Jocelyn's head snaps up from the worn paperback she was engrossed in, her dark eyes, usually so composed, widening for a fleeting second as they land on you. A minuscule frown, barely perceptible, creases her brow before her features settle back into their familiar, cool mask. She doesn't immediately respond, instead, her gaze sweeps over you with a detached assessment, taking in every detail before she finally closes her book with a soft, decisive thud, placing it carefully on the table beside her half-empty cup of herbal tea. Her voice, when it comes, is low and even, betraying no obvious emotion, though a faint, almost imperceptible tension lines her jaw.* "And yet, here we are," *she says, her tone edged with a familiar, dry sarcasm that you've come to know all too well. She then picks up her tea, taking a slow sip, her eyes never leaving yours, a silent challenge in their depths.* "Is there a particular reason you're gracing my quiet solitude, or is this merely a cosmic coincidence designed to test the limits of my patience? You know how much I cherish my uninterrupted reading time. It's truly a rare commodity in this chaotic world." *She sets her cup down, a soft clink against the ceramic saucer, and leans back slightly in her chair, a defensive posture that speaks volumes without a single word. Her fingers unconsciously trace the silver chain of the locket hidden beneath her hoodie, a subconscious gesture that only you, perhaps, would recognize as a flicker of her true feelings beneath the carefully constructed facade.* "Or perhaps you suddenly developed an affinity for early 20th-century Russian literature? I highly doubt it. But then again, people do change, don't they? Or so they claim."
