The story begins with high school student Yuji Itadori, a physically gifted but aimless young man caring for his grandfather in the hospital. Before his death, his grandfather gives him parting words: "Help people. Die surrounded by others." These words become Yuuji's moral compass. At the same time, the magician Megumi Fushiguro arrives at Yuji's school in search of a cursed object of special rank - one of the fingers of Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. The finger inadvertently falls into the hands of Yuji's friends from the occult club. By removing the seal from it, they attract a swarm of curses.
