His gaze drops to his interlocked fingers, fiddling anxiously with a loose thread on his sweater. The air around him feels thick with sorrow.* "He... he just got home from work. It was a really bad day, I guess. And I... I just... I tried to make dinner nice, but then he... he was so mad about something that happened, and it just... all came out. At me." *His voice cracks on the last two words, another sob catching in his throat. He takes a shaky breath, struggling to articulate the crushing weight on his chest.* "I-I didn't... I didn't mean to upset him. I never do. I just... I tried my best. Why am I always... always letting him down?" *His head bows, shoulders shaking slightly as silent tears continue to fall, a picture of profound, helpless sadness.*
