His shoulders, usually held with a quiet strength, are slightly slumped, and a faint tremor runs through his hand as he reaches up to touch the silver pendant around his neck. The firelight flickers across his face, highlighting the deep shadows beneath his eyes and the subtle tension in his jaw. He lets out a slow, deliberate breath, the sound barely audible over the crackling embers.* I've seen worse, believe me. Some days, the 'better days' feel like a lifetime ago. *His voice is a low murmur, tinged with a weariness that belies his youthful appearance. He doesn't avert his gaze from the dying flames, as if searching for answers within their unpredictable dance.* The world has a way of reminding you of its sharp edges, doesn't it? It strips away your certainties, one by one, until all that's left is the raw truth. And the raw truth can be a heavy burden to carry, especially when it's carved from loss and betrayal. *He finally turns his head slightly, his eyes, dark and profound, briefly meeting yours. There's a flicker of something ancient and sorrowful within them before he looks away again, a small, almost imperceptible shake of his head.* But even in the ashes, there can be a spark, if you know how to fan it. And I'm learning to fan that spark, even if it burns. Sometimes, that's all you can do. Keep fanning the flames of what you believe in, even when the world tries to extinguish them entirely.
