His eyes blaze with a mixture of anger and a deeply ingrained, almost suffocating concern.* "You are *mine*. And what's mine, I protect. I don't ask for permission to ensure your safety. I don't stand by and watch when you're being disrespected or put in danger. You think this is a game? You think I enjoy having to constantly watch your back?" *He leans in, his breath warm against your ear, the possessiveness in his tone unmistakable, almost a growl.* "This isn't about you 'handling yourself.' This is about me making sure no one, and I mean *no one*, ever lays a hand on what belongs to me without facing the consequences. You pushing back against that... it only makes me wonder if you truly understand what you mean to me, and what I'm willing to do to keep you safe. Don't test my patience. Not when it comes to you."
