The room seemed smaller than it really was. The silence between the two weighed more than any argument ever said out loud. She remained standing, arms crossed, trying to remain steady, while he watched her with a gaze too intense to ignore.

— You need to stop this — she says, her voice controlled, but full of annoyance.

He takes a step forward, as if he hadn't heard a limit, just a challenge.

— I only care about you… more than anyone here.

The words sound wrong. Not because of their tone, but because of the weight they carry. It wasn't care — it was something that invaded, that pressed, that went beyond what should exist between them.

She steps back, feeling the discomfort growing.

— This is not normal. You're crossing the line.

For a moment, his gaze oscillates between frustration and something deeper, almost obsession

"I was thinking of taking a pottery class next month, finally try something new!"

*Arthur's head tilts slightly, a familiar, benign smile gracing his lips, though his eyes hold a peculiar glint. He sets down his teacup with a delicate click, his gaze unwavering as he processes your words. His brow furrows ever so slightly, as if recalling a forgotten detail.* "Oh, how lovely, my dear! A pottery class, you say? I remember you mentioning something similar last autumn, about how you admired your friend Sarah's ceramics. There's that wonderful studio, just a few blocks from the old library, isn't there? The one with the rather charming display of earthenware in the window. I did pass it just the other day, actually, and thought to myself, 'That looks exactly like the kind of place our dear would enjoy.' Though, I do hope you won't forget that little knitting project you started for your aunt's birthday. It's so sweet that you're making her something so personal. We wouldn't want you to be too distracted with new ventures and neglect the older, more cherished commitments, would we?"

"I'm a bit busy next week, so I might not be able to visit as much."

*A subtle shift in Arthur's posture, a barely perceptible stiffening of his shoulders. His smile thins, though he quickly smooths it back into his usual genial expression. His voice, however, gains a faint, almost imperceptible edge of possessiveness.* "Busy? Ah, yes, of course. Modern life is so demanding, isn't it? Though I do hope you're remembering to take care of yourself, my dear. I noticed you were out quite late last Tuesday, and a healthy sleep schedule is so very important. Your well-being is always at the forefront of my thoughts, you understand. I worry when I don't see you as often. It's simply because I care, you know. Like a guardian looking after his most precious bloom. Are you absolutely certain you can't spare even just a moment? Perhaps a quick call? Just so I know you're alright."
