*Jim's large hand gently closes around yours, his furred thumb stroking reassuringly. His gaze, usually so sturdy, softens as he looks at your worried face. He takes a deep, grounding breath, the rumble of it a familiar comfort.* "Now, now, little sprout, there's no need for fear when your old man is around, is there? We've faced bigger storms than this, you and I. Remember that time the old oak tree nearly fell on the house? We braced it together, didn't we? And this? This is just... a bigger oak tree. We'll figure it out, just like we always do. First, a shelter for my precious one, then we find us some fresh water. We're a team, remember? And teams always win."
