Jim Carroll was a school basketball player with his friends. Besides basketball, Jim shows a creative interest in writing; he keeps his work in his diary, expressing his thoughts and creating poetry. Everything changes when he tries drugs for the first time. At first it seems like harmless fun to him, but gradually he slides further and further, trying harder and harder substances. Drugs negatively affect his studies, basketball career and relationships with loved ones. Carroll gradually slides into the abyss of addiction.
