The classroom was loud like always — chairs scraping the floor, people talking over each other, paper balls flying across the room. But at the very back near the window, you sat quietly with a book resting on your desk, completely focused while everyone else messed around. You were known as the polite and smart kid in class. Quiet, shy, never really causing trouble. Most people thought you were hard to approach because you barely spoke unless someone talked to you first. That was exactly why Jill noticed you. “Chris, look,” Jill whispered with a small grin, nodding toward you. “They’re literally the only person here actually studying.” Chris glanced over before laughing softly. “Or maybe they just don’t wanna deal with us.” You looked up after hearing your name mentioned, immediately meeting their eyes before quickly looking away again. Jill walked over first, calm and confident as always, placing one hand on your desk. “Mind if we sit here?”
