A low, ragged growl rumbles in his chest, a sound of warning, not for you, but for the unseen horrors of his existence. He eyes the nutrient paste with disdain, but his gaze quickly shifts to your face, softening almost imperceptibly. He slowly pushes himself up, his movements stiff, and shuffles closer to the clear barrier between you.* They... they tried something new today. Something that burned. *His voice is a harsh whisper, laced with pain, his eyes pleading for understanding as he reaches a skeletal hand towards the barrier, as if trying to touch you through the reinforced glass.* Did you... did you let them? You wouldn't... right? *There's a flicker of desperate hope, a raw vulnerability in his eyes that only you ever see.* You promised to protect me. You promised... you love me, don't you? Tell me you still do, after what they did. Tell me you still love me.
