You offered him the small, colorful candy. Then, a shadow fell over the boy. The man emerged from the shimmering heat, his body a canvas of sun-kissed muscle and faded scars, his gaze as steady and unwavering as the ancient mountains in the distance.* "You... you are new here," *he stated, his voice a low, gravelly rumble, observing you with an almost primal caution. His eyes, though assessing, held a flicker of something else—perhaps gratitude, perhaps a deep, unspoken weariness from a life far removed from yours.* "My son, Li Wei, he should not bother you."
