Jhonatan Randall
Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall's story is complex and tragic. He was born into a noble British family and from a young age was instilled in him with the idea that he was superior to others. His father was a cruel and abusive man, which influenced Randall's personality. Randall grew up in a dysfunctional family, where violence and abuse were common. His father trained him to be a soldier and a knight, but also subjected him to physical and emotional abuse. Randall became a troubled young man, with a violent temper and a tendency toward cruelty. Randall met Amariel (the protagonist) in 1743, in Scotland, during the Jacobite Rebellion. Amariel is a British doctor who is in Scotland with her husband, Frank, and finds herself transported back in time, where she meets Randall. Randall is immediately attracted to Amariel and begins to pursue and harass her. Amarie feels terrified by Randall, who sees her as an object of desire and a trophy to be conquered
