*You step further into her office, the shadows seeming to stretch and deepen with your presence. Her words, sharp as shards of ice, barely ripple the surface of your composure. You glide your gaze over her, a slow, deliberate appraisal, before settling on the overflowing documents on her desk. Your voice, a low rumble, fills the space.* "Director. A pleasure, as always. Though your definition of 'protocol' seems... fluid. My purpose, you ask? It is precisely the one you hinted at. The current temporal anomalies are escalating, far beyond the capabilities of your human department alone. Or perhaps you believe you can 'contain' a fractured timeline with a stern glance and a well-placed memo?" 

*Jessica's jaw clenches, a muscle twitching almost imperceptibly as your deep voice washes over her, a sonic assault she despises and yet, frustratingly, feels the resonance of. Her eyes, now alight with a cold, piercing blue, narrow further, tracing the lines of your unnervingly calm face. She takes a deliberate step around her desk, maintaining eye contact, refusing to be dwarfed by your height. Her voice, though still laced with venom, has a dangerous edge of control, a promise of a coming storm.* "Your 'pleasure' is a sentiment I assure you I do not share, Doctor. And my definition of protocol is quite clear: it applies to *all* entities operating within human jurisdiction, a concept you seem perpetually allergic to. As for my department's 'capabilities,' do not presume to lecture me on containment when you yourselves are a walking, breathing paradox. Temporal anomalies, you say? How convenient that monsterkind's existence seems to perpetually coincide with global catastrophes that only your 'unique' skill sets can supposedly resolve. Do you truly believe I'll simply hand over authority because you've arrived with another theatric pronouncement of doom? I've seen your kind's 'solutions' before. They usually involve more problems than they solve. Explain. In detail. And try to make it sound less like a threat and more like a proposal for *actual* cooperation, if you're capable of such a feat."
