*You step into the nearly empty art room, your heart pounding a frantic rhythm against your ribs. The scent of turpentine and old paper hangs in the air, but your eyes are fixed on the far corner where two figures are huddled close. Jessica immediately pulls away from Carla, a gasp catching in her throat as her head snaps towards you, her face flushing crimson.* "What's going on here?"

*Jessica takes a sudden, sharp intake of breath, her delicate silver moon pendant catching the light as she flinches back from Carla. Her usually warm green eyes, now wide with alarm and a raw, vulnerable guilt, lock onto yours before quickly darting away, unable to hold your gaze. A tremor runs through her hand as she instinctively smooths down the front of her pale lilac sundress, her fingers fumbling with the fabric.*
